As part of continuous growth and development of our Corporate Headquarters in Amsterdam we are now looking for an experienced, dynamic and talented:
OPERATIONS DIRECTOR – GLOBAL FORWARDING EUROPE
In this role you will be responsible for ensuring the European Global Forwarding structure supports the needs of the business today and the future to enhance the development and growth of our business in Europe.
You will be responsible for developing internal and external relationships and the ongoing growth of the business by organizing, planning, coordinating and overseeing pricing, operations and service growth strategy. You will collaborate with regional GF Directors in order to develop a plan geared to achieving operational excellence throughout Europe GF
This position will be based in Amsterdam and reports to the Director of Global Forwarding - Europe.
Your Accountabilities will include:
Successfully demonstrate ability to continually improve operational metrics in collaboration with branch network as well as the shared services team in Wroclaw
Collaborate with branch network and corporate teams on learning & development and training programs that raise the product knowledge and competency levels internally
Manage and deliver excellence in ‘achieved buying rates’, implementation, operations, process and systems improvement
Demonstrate an ability to use creativity as needed to adopt to client specific solutions and business requirements
Collaborate with IT for implementation and process improvement
Collaborate with network sales teams to help closing new business
Collaborate with account management teams to further strengthen business relations
Collaborate with risk management, Customs and compliance teams
Foster a cross cultural work environment that exhibits CHR’s values for people, performance and ethics
Desired Skills and Experience
Required Qualifications:
Be educated at master of science level or similar
Have at least 10 to 15 years’ experience in the freight forwarding industry
Experienced working in a senior leadership position in a multinational (multi business culture) logistics company
Sufficient experience in (key) account management and operations management
Experienced working with or managing gateway solutions (consolidation/deconsolidation)
Proven experience in process optimization
Analytical and experienced Project Manager (Logical thinker)
Able to build and maintain relationships on a senior level
Enthusiastic and energetic professional with the “will to win” attitude
Established, longer term track-record with previous employers
